APPEARANCEMercedes stands tall at sixteen point one hands high. A typical bay mare, she sports the light brown coloring along with the darker coloured legs. The mare happens to have an odd shaped blaze from her muzzle up to between the middle of her dark brown eyes. Her face has a certain look on it, a look of gentleness one could say. Kiko’s two front legs are the host to two white sock-like markings. From her neck down to her rear, Kiko shows off a dapple pattern. Her mane and tail are kept neatly, pulled and detangled. And if kept in proper shape, the mare would have a rather ideal athletic body. But at this point in time, she happens to be a bit on the chubby side
PERSONALITY[/blockquote]Kiko is a very kind natured animal. She is sweet and gentle with almost anyone and has excellent ground manners. However due to her experience with her last owner, she has a tendency to be a little head shy, and is somewhat afraid of males.
Mercedes is a wonderful ride, but happens to be quite lazy. A strong set of legs and some spurs, she will defiantly pick up her gaits. She has a smooth walk and canter, but her trot is a little bit difficult to sit to nicely. Jumps have never been a problem, for Kiko is a very brave jumper. After being lame and un-used for a while, she does shy away from some obstacles. This, she will get over with time.

HISTORYMercedes had a pretty typical show horse life. She was born at a little show farm, and was raised and cared for most of her life. Training began at the age of three where she was broken, and was lightly ridden. At the age of four, she was introduced to a variety of small jumps. Kiko as she was called at home was a quick learner and a brave jumper. She had participated in her first show at the age of five, competing in flat and over fences classes. Before her sixth birthday Kiko had been sold to a larger show farm, where she would continue her show career. Her life at the new place was almost as simple as the old place. She was leased out to an experienced rider who would give the mare confidence in the arena. At the age of seven she had moved up into the regular hunter division, and was being tried in the jumper ring as well.
After a horse show when Mercedes was thirteen, she had gone lame. The inexperienced rider, who had owned her at the time, became frustrated after his sweet mare had suddenly gone sour. In his frustration, he had beaten her. It was not until the rider’s coach brought in the vet one day that they had figured out what was wrong. Not wanting to wait, they sold the Mercedes for a very cheap price. Kiko was brought to Damaged Souls to re-cooperate, finding herself a new ever-lasting home.
