His parents, their parents, and the generations before had all rode horses. They’d been eventing, hunter, jumper, and dressage champions; Gabe on the other hand did have some resentment to the usual image of his ‘type’, although he did hold close to most aspects of it. Barrel racing especially appealed to the boy, since the term adrenaline junkie did adequately sum him up to a point. There were several disciplines he’d always wanted to try, so why not get one out of the way when Fei offered him the opportunity? “I’d like that,” He began, with a smile, joking as the last part came forward, “Hopefully your horse can put up with me.” This would also give him the chance to maybe meet some more people he figured. The more he rode the more people he seemed to meet. And considering Gabe’s tendency to be reliant upon other people for his own happiness, it was a necessity that he make friends. And he was determined to befriend both of these girls, despite Elle’s efforts to deter him.
Elle seemed to brush off the bite, but Gabe’s concern grew as he saw the large purple mark. He was not a doctor, but he figured it’d be better if they put ice on it, at least then it wouldn’t swell nearly as much and it would numb some of the pain. He stepped towards her once more, reaching out his arms towards her elbow, attempting to provide some sort of consolation, he was positive the bite must have hurt. “We should put ice on it.” He said that in a rather matter of fact tone, casting a glance back at Fei to see if she would support him on this idea. He then turned back to Elle, his blue eyes still wide with concern as he tried to search her face for something. Gabe was more of a people or dog kind of person rather than horse, so it was easier for him to detect something in Elle than it would be in her tempestuous horse for him. Besides, Gabe was concerned for the girl because he hated to see anyone in pain, especially when he felt as though somehow, even though he couldn’t, he might have been able to protect her. | [atrb=width,100]words ,402 words tagged ,Gabe, Fei, Rachelle. notes ,Ohwow. | [atrb=width,138] | Fei had disappeared into the bathroom, missing the glance that Gabe had sent. She rummaged through the freezer and returned with a red large ice boot with black straps. She walked over to Elle. She quickly unrolled the large boots, which were practically glued together by the ice. "Eh, I used to have a lot of bites and bruises from Fantigo when I started him out. The ice boot always did the trick for me," Fei said with a distracted smile and she straightened out the icy boots, little ice flakes falling to the ground and hitting the cobble aisle way as a droplet. Fei then offered it gently over to Elle, her hands freezing a little.
Fantigo smacked his paw in a demanding manner on the cobblestone from his position in the cross ties. Fei gave the two a wane smile and walked over, grabbing her whip as she did and pointing it at Fantigo, who leaped back as far as he could and stood stalk still. Fei then pat the horse's shoulder in a reward and began to clean him heartily and quickly. She wanted to get Fantigo ridden and done so she could go crawl into bed already.
Fei let a little yawn sneak out quietly before she answered a text in the middle of brushing Fantigo's tail. She made sure his feet were clean and she checked his mouth, looking at his teeth and his tongue and his gums. She then took a damp rag over his coat to get any access dust off that the soft brushes hadn't gotten. With that she booted and bell booted his legs before grabbing her saddle pad and her saddle with the girth tucked over the seat. "Don't leave the ice on for more than 20 minutes at a time," Fei called over. "And when you're done you can just set it in the freezer, you don't have to roll it up or anything, it's a pain," Fei said. She then set Tigo's saddle pad on his back. Fantigo gritted his teeth and began to nod his head. Fei set the saddle on the horse and he began to stop. She stuck the girth first on the right side and then tightened it up on the left. Fantigo began gritting his teeth again and nodding his head, his ears pinned slightly. Fei smacked him when he kicked out, "Ah- Nein!" Fei blinked quietly and said a few little words to the horse in German, a few threatening words. Fantigo just flicked his ears forward and back in a slightly attentive but ignoring way.
Fei grabbed his snaffle bridle with a gorgeous red ruby brow band and grabbed her helmet as well. She didn't always wear her helmet, but if no one was going to be out in the ring with her she felt it was a little safe to wear her helmet. She slipped on his bridle quickly, setting his halter on the hooks nearby and grabbed her gloves, slipping them on, and then grabbing her whip.

Otherwise, she would have had to wait to get home. Speaking of which, driving would be... interesting. At least she hadn't brought her motorbike. It would be painful, but she was sure she could manage to drive the Cobra. Then again, last time something similar had happened and she's tried she'd regretted it. Not that she was about to ask for help.
Keeping the ice boot on, she wandered back down to Amore's stall, pinning up the mesh again so that he wouldn't grab anyone else like he had her. Then, it was back down the aisle to where they were, slipping into Mia's stall as she waited for the twenty minutes with the ice to be up. There was a curious, concerned nuzzle from the mare who was reassured by a few soft, indiscernible words and a scratch on her forehead.
